Indian Hifin Barb (Oreichthys cosuatis) Oreichthys cosuatis, commonly known as the Indian Hi-Fin Barb, is a small fish species. Males usually grow to about 8 cm (3.2 inches) in total length, but in captivity, they are often smaller, typically around 5 cm (2 inches) or even less. The Indian High Fin Barb is recognized for its energetic and vibrant personality, making it a delightful addition to any aquarium. These fish are social beings that flourish in groups, ideally in schools of at least six. Their natural behavior features playful swimming patterns and interactions with each other, which can be very entertaining to watch. They are typically peaceful and can live harmoniously with various community tank fish, as long as they are not kept with overly aggressive species. Their curious and inquisitive nature means they will thoroughly explore their surroundings, often investigating new decorations or plants introduced to their habitat.
