A few things before I jump into the actual review: my feet measures size 5 wide C, but I wear Women’s size 6 (M, or normal) shoes (sometimes size 6.5, depending what shoes it is, like depending on whether it’s tennis shoes, dress shoes, heals, etc. – really, I don’t understand what the heck is wrong with shoe sizes nowadays…). These toe spreaders fit my tiny size 5 feet. Also, I tried it on for 4 weeks now.*** Updated Review September 13, 2018 (1 year later) ***I REALLY did like these toe spreaders initially. What’s not to love about it? Price point, packaging, and material were all really good, but it did not suit my needs. I have, well had, ball-of-foot pain on one foot that wasn’t going away. After trying many, MANY toe spreaders over the course of 6 months, there was only one that worked… and of course the one that worked happened to be none other than the most expensive toe spreaders in the universe, CorrectToes (or Correct Toes). Without reviewing CorrectToes, I will just say that for my needs, YogaBody’s toe spreaders just didn’t work for me even though I really wanted it to. It alleviated some ball-of-foot pain by a little, but did not cure it (but my expensive pair did). While I really tried to “love” my Yogabody toe spreaders, they were alas unpractical. I could literally only wear these for doing light yoga or sitting on the couch with my foot up. I could not run in them, walk in them, weight-lift with them… These toe spreaders are quite bulky too, so it’s not like it’s very comfortable in any shoes, even my Altra shoes, so it’s not even good for standing with them on. This is just my personal opinion, however. With that being said though, after trying on so many different pairs (I have literally tried on at least 10 toe spreaders), these are the next best thing to Correct Toes. Yep. While I said that I couldn’t run, walk, stand, or anything in them, they actually were the best toe spreaders (besides Correct Toes), in terms of price point, packaging, and material – and for some light yoga. As for Correct Toes, I will just say, you get what you paid for (in a good way).INITIAL REVIEW:The first 3 weeks DID NOT work for me:I will admit that I jumped the gun with this product and actually submitted for a return. I even tried it for 3 weeks before I asked for a refund. I walked with them in shoes AND barefooted, but barefoot just doesn’t do it for me because I have ball-of-foot pain – so being barefoot on the hard-wood floor even with these cushiony toe spreaders was still a no-go. I tried it out, did the whole 15-30 minutes per day and worked my way up, and wished it all worked out. But it didn’t.After 3 weeks AND buying appropriate shoes as recommended:However, it wasn’t until I bought APPROPRIATE shoes to wear these with that I was able to wear the toe spreaders comfortably, and hence able to actually reap the benefits. I bought some Vans-looking knock-off regular minimalist shoes that was thin as all hell, but hella comfortable (best $5.99 I ever spent on shoes, to be honest, that I bought like 3 pairs). I also bought a pair of expensive Altra minimalist running shoes for those occasions that require me to not burn my soles off on the hot pavement… It even works with regular (may I add, light and thin, and with no-drop or absolutely no irregular elevation on any part of the foot or toe areas) flip-flops, the kind with the little wedge in between your big toe and second toe, and NOT the slippers type that wrap around the top of your foot. I can wear these toe spreaders in all these new shoes I bought for up to 3 hours a day now. It’s been good.Really, I don’t care much for the box, but it sure is convenient to have around because of my pets. The product also comes with a medium-sized toe spreader. I use it sometimes when I’m just sitting and it feels fine too, but I don’t walk in them, as they are too big for my small feet.Investing in new shoes? Really…?:I know what you’re thinking. Must I REALLY buy all these shoes just for a toe-spreader. Well, I don’t think YOU have to, but for me, I sure think I do. The way I see it, the only reason you even need a toe spreader is either 1. you got into Yoga or a similar activity (maybe you just got into walking?? idk, somebody help me out here…) and got recommended this product or a product similar to this, or 2. it’s already too late for your foot and you need a remedy to fix either the pain or the odd shape. For me, it’s number 2. I didn’t even know I had a problem until my foot swelled up and had to go the podiatrist, who told me what I didn’t want to hear, as doctors usually do… And then suddenly I noticed that dang, my feet are indeed abnormal compared to others, and it finally makes sense why my foot has been hurting all my life (which I had largely ignored and wrote off as genetics)! I didn’t even know what a podiatrist was or what bunions, ball-of-foot, or arches were until now (I honestly thought a bunion was somewhere around the butt, the heels were called ball-of-foot, arches is what you do to your back, and podiatrists studied plants – yep, ignorant fool here). While I didn’t like the change of lifestyle, I sure want to be able to continue walking for the rest of my life without having to worry about these simple yet unpleasant issues again (I only say they’re ‘simple’ because I look at my feet and keep thinking how one little misaligned bone can make or break me). So, yes, I definitely do think even a single pair of appropriate shoes is a GREAT investment, whether or not you’re going to buy a toe spreader to fix to go with it (provided that your issue isn’t severe enough to warrant more than toe spreaders, such as surgery).Remember, toe spreaders and aligning your foot and shape is not an overnight accomplishment. It’s going to take a couple of years, at least. For now, I am committed to that. Afterall, I already feel better with my new shoes and toe spreader combined than I did the past 3 months. For one, my bunion pains are at a minimum for the first time in a long time…
