The media could not be loaded.Having a fairly expensive ebike and riding as much as I do, I am always in the market for a good lock to prevent its theft. I got this lock as an addition as it provides some more versatility over cable or other regular bike locks.This lock is made like and works similar to how handcuffs work. It has the two cuff-like ends which one can be attached to your bike, scooter, etc. and then the other end secured around a pole, bike rack or anything that’s suitable for securing something to. Rather than having a cable in between the locking ends, it has a chain which is enclosed in some type of heavy fabric which prevents it from scratching whatever it is attached to. I like this feature because many times, a cable can be very stiff and hard to position correctly but with a chain, it is much more flexible and easier to manage. The lock assembly is about 34 inches long from end to end stretched out.The lock comes with three keys, they are the kind with the inside cuts on each side, which make the lock harder to pick and also the key can be inserted into the lock upwards or downwards. The locking jaws are rubber covered and most all of the lock assembly has some type of covering in order to prevent it from scratching your bike, scooter, etc. The lock works very well and once it is fastened, it feels very secure, and you get the feeling your possession is safe and secure from theft.One thing I want to mention is, in the video I posted, detailing and testing the lock, I noticed the lock had to be UNLOCKED in order for you to be able to slide the jaws together to lock them. At first, I thought this was a bit of a nuisance but then, I remembered how some handcuffs can be easily opened by inserting a flat object in between the jaws and the catch which holds the jaw. I tried this with this lock but because of how the lock mechanism is designed, the part which keeps the jaw from opening when it is locked cannot be depressed unless it is unlocked. This is actually a VERY good feature, meaning, you can’t just stick a screwdriver or other object down into the lock and defeat it.In summary, I feel this is a very high-quality lock and will give you a sense of security and peace of mind knowing your item is safe from theft. Sure, very few locks can stop a very determined thief from stealing something, but this lock will definitely make it very hard for them to do so and will likely cause them to shy away, looking for an easier target. I highly recommend this lock!*EDIT: in the original review and video, I thought the body of the lock was made of metal but it is plastic. I pried it off to determine if the lock could be defeated in that way but it is solid metal under the plastic and the plastic cover is for looks and protection from scratching; it does not affect the integrity of the lock in any adverse way.
