I have to say, I was a little nervous about getting this fan with zero reviews so far. This one had a little discount, so I thought I would try it out. This is actually my 5th solar fan. I built both a greenhouse and a frameless polycarbonate dome in the backyard, and both heat up excessively if the sun is shining directly on them. I have found that solar fans help a lot.Surprised that this has quickly become my favorite solar fan out of all of them. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to mount it to make it a ceiling fan given that it is need to sit on a flat surface, but the bar frame is perfect. I found ring nuts that fit the screws that connect the panels, and with some zip tie magic, the fan was mounted in the perfect position to blow on me as I lie in the hammock! You can actually feel the wind in any part of the dome, it’s powerful. I mounted the solar panels on the outside with super strong suction cups. I think even a hurricane or earthquake will not knock this down now.I think overall, it’s pretty well-made, although the jury is still out on durability since I just got it… I will update if it breaks down. It has a nice long cord and I didn’t even use 80% of it since I fed it through the window. The switch is 3 modes and off, and it is a knob rather than a switch, so it’s pretty easy to use even being mounted so high up. It is easier to adjust. It is a decent sized fan, so you have to make sure you have room for the footprint; for me, the ceiling mount provided the perfect situation, and the unexpected battery was just the icing on the cake. I am thinking of getting a second one for the greenhouse now.
